Reports To: Manager of Facilities

Scope:

The position of Assistant Maintenance Technician is responsible for a variety of diverse activities that supports the maintenance, repairs and improvements of all aspects of the facility.

Responsibilities:

• Assist HVAC technician to trouble shoot, adjusts and repair all HVAC equipment.

• Assist with electrical repairs and installations under the supervision of the staff electrician.

• Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections, repairs, and documentation.

• Replace light fixture lamps throughout the facility.

• Assist in the service and repair of production and facility equipment as necessary.

• Complete wall repairs and painting.

• Assist in project and repair design concepts.

• Complete facility improvement projects.

• Perform interior and exterior repairs such as: masonry and asphalt repairs, building, landscaping work, drainage work, building exterior repairs, and exterior lighting.

• Assist in the repairs and maintenance of hydraulic systems.

• Specify material needed to complete the job tasks.

• Replace damaged and stained ceiling tiles

• Conduct monthly inspections of all fire extinguishers and ladders

• Conduct monthly inspections of all exit and emergency lighting.

• Notify manager of any adverse maintenance situation ASAP.

Qualifications:

• Must have basic skills in all Mechanical (HVAC) Electrical, Plumbing and construction areas.

• Able to work independently and as part of the team.

• Good documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Extensive Facilities and Operations experience.

• GMP knowledge.

• Basic skills required in all technical trades.

• Ability to climb ladders

• Must be capable of performing heavy lifting and moving equipment as necessary.

• Must have a good command of the English Language, both written and verbal.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Able to climb up and down ladders

Able to stand for prolong periods of time.

Able to work on all 3 shifts to fulfill staffing requirements.

Able to work outdoors during any weather.

Training: New hires or transfers into this position shall be given a three-month trial orientation period to become proficient. Proficiency shall be evaluated by the area manager or trainer and become part of the employee’s training record.
